Description
A highly detailed and imposing sculpture of an elephant carrying a richly designed howdah. The piece is carved from a creamy white material and features an elephant adorned with ceremonial coverings. The howdah on its back is exceptionally ornate, featuring two individual, domed canopies (chhatris) supported by miniature pillars, suggesting an elaborate carriage fit for royalty. A small figure is visible under one of the canopies, adding a narrative element. The smooth, refined finish and the intricate, multi-level carving of the canopy structures make this a fine example of traditional Indian artistic craftsmanship, emphasizing luxury and majesty.
